Hi, I’m Ruqayya, a self-taught henna artist based in Birmingham.

For me henna is so much more than a pretty design on your skin. It’s about tradition and celebration, whether that’s a big life event like your wedding day or simply marking the everyday wins and wanting to feel special. It’s adornment, anticipation, and pride as you watch the colour slowly develop. Henna can’t be rushed, and I love that most of all. It’s a labour of love and creativity, and that patience gives every design its meaning.

Bridal henna is at the heart of what I do. I know how much these moments mean, so I pay attention to every small detail and make sure you get the bridal henna of your dreams. I make the henna myself, using only the highest quality ingredients to create a skin-safe henna that stains beautifully rich and looks stunning for days. The same henna I use for all my brides I also supply to henna artists and hobbyists across the UK.

As an artist and painter, I bring a fine-art eye to my work, adapting to changing styles while making sure every design flows with intricate detail. My roots in Birmingham and a love of the South Asian community shape my business and everything I create, and being a part of your celebration is something I never take for granted.
